SoulFire4TheGulf an All Nations Ceremony of Healing and Renewal, for the land, the people, the critters and the waters of the Gulf, as envisioned by Dr. John, Mz. imani, Bellavia, and Turtle Women Rising. Individually and collectively we have received Dr. John’s request for ceremony, and SoulFire4TheGulf is our ceremonial response to the crisis that has been occurring all along the Gulf Coast.
Dr. John is an American singer/songwriter, pianist and guitarist, whose music combines blues, pop, jazz as well as Zydeco, boogie woogie and rock and roll. He has become legendary for his wildly theatrical stage show inspired by medicine shows, Mardi Gras costumes and voodoo ceremonies. SoulFire4TheGulf is inspired and instigated by Dr. John’s visions and dreams and communications from the Spirit Kingdom. Called by the spirits and the creative force that guides his life, Dr. John continues to write, arrange, produce and interpret with a passion that has yet to wane.
Mz. imani: “The music and teachings that roll through me come from my life experience and the guidance of spirit. I am blessed with a unique perspective and sense of purpose: I am here to celebrate and honor the sacred in all life. My methods come from years of forming relationships with individuals and community through ceremony, the drum, and elemental alchemy. From start to finish, my work is held as a prayer and is offered as an invitation for each of us to explore and tend to our personal and collective SoulFire as a way deepen our relationship with the divine.”
First Nation Elders and Grandmothers: Margaret Behan, Cheyenne/Arapahoe member of the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers, and Arvol Looking Horse, 19th generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe, along with his wife Paula Horne will join SF4TG.
Turtle Women Rising: We are a ceremonial drum collective founded and led by Indigenous women committed to the return of peace and harmony to our Madre Tierra/Earth Mother. Turtle Women Rising welcomes all traditions, all nations. We understand that all people’s ancestral roots are indigenous, and our hearts remember. We vision women stepping up as guardians of the elements, and of the Sacred Fire. We vision women returning to the drum to hear and strengthen the heartbeat of our Mother Earth with the vibrations of peace.

SoulFire Circles are designed to feed the frequency of global transformation through ceremonies centered around the drum, and a sacred fire. Whether under the night sky or a candle lit altar, we share music, dance, prayer, collaborative art and poetry. We hold an open and eclectic opportunity for the people of all nations to come together, each in their own way, to celebrate life and honor our connection to the web of life. In some of our circles we circumambulate the fire, others are more contemplative, still others are a combination of stillness and ART in Action. SoulFire Circles supports women sitting down to the drum, and invites us all peole to come together and weave a new way of honoring our personal spiritual paths while we become a part of a Living Prophecy that dances this dream of harmony, into reality.
